Having recently released his new gem “Noble Beast”, Bird starts his new world tour in US and will arrive in Europe (2nd concert in London just added) by early November.

Not sure why my iTunes includes Bird in the “alternative & punk” section – but I don’t blame it; he is not easy to be catalogued.
Graduated in violin performance, Bird is an incredibly eclectic musician, songwriter and violinist, able to create sophisticated and original pieces of music with unique talent and creativity. He is definitely a musician who stands out from the crowd of indie-rock and alternative musicians, offering something original but at the same time melodic.
In his works there are clear influences of rock, jazz, folk and traditional music with some traces of classical music as background.
Noble Beast seems to me like a very good album. In his 4th album, Bird tones down his virtuosity in favor of ambient sound and melody. Well worth a listen.

your band of the week made the soundtrack from the last spike jonze's movie, releasing next week i guess. (where the wild things are).
ReplyDeletei'm "workin" on the empire of the sun right now..
Yeah, I actually was on the phone with spike couple of days ago and he was looking for a good tune for his movie.
ReplyDeleteI guess it was a good advice, you know?!
I can't believe Alice in Chains have a new album out, which is trying to recreate the same exact sound they had 15 years ago. That's sad. What a great band it was..The more I listen to old bands coming back the more I want to discover new ones.
Can somebody please stop the following bands to release new records: U2, Rolling Stones, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Guns n'Axl, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Extreme, Queen(!), ....GIVE US A BREAK
