Vibrant fall here in Boston!
Lots of interesting bands are coming to play here and there, and I will try to bring insights of some of these events.
This Sunday I will go to see Porcupine Tree (http://www.porcupinetree.com/index.cfm) at the House of Blues. Their retro-dream of re-proposing the progressive rock of the '70s has still not vanished and they will be presenting the new album entitled " The Incident". Approaching a more mainstream sound, alike their main reference Pink Floyd, they are able to combine effective pop-rock ballads with long, articulated and perfectly performed instrumental journeys.
You might like them if you like: Pink Floyd, Rush, King Crimson, Transatlantic.
My favorite albums: Stupid Dream, On The Sunday of Life & Coma Divine.
Radioactive toy:
I will also rock at the sound of Yeah Yeah Yeahs (http://www.yeahyeahyeahs.com/) on the 29th of September, which have recently released their third album "It's blitz", enjoy the magnificent experimental indie-rock sound of Grizzly Bear (http://www.grizzly-bear.net/), on the 8th of October, and let me amaze by the alternative-folk of one of the best new indie-bands of 2008: the Dodos (http://www.myspace.com/thedodos).
Both have recently released wonderful album, which we will talk about later on: in order, "Veckatimest" and "Time to die".
See u soon
